Sunday November 4th, 2018
Welcome to Cuba!
Arrive in Havana via Jose Marti Airport. There the group will be met up by our expert bi-lingual guide and your tour officially begins! Enjoy a panoramic bus tour of Havana, which will include Old and Modern Havana as well as Vedado. Learn about the history of the city as well as the changes and influences in architecture as the city expanded. The group will then enjoy lunch at a local Havana paladar. After, the group will visit the Museum of the Revolution for a guided tour to learn more about Cuba’s revolution and the changes postwar. After, the group will check-in to the Presidente Hotel in the Vedado section of Havana. Later in the evening the group will enjoy a Welcome Dinner with a traditional Cuban cocktail included as well as entertainment.
Monday November 5th, 2018
This morning the group will be meeting with members of the Cuban Society of Constitutional & Administrative law. The group will engage in a panel discussion regarding the Cuban legal system with a brief review of the Cuban electoral system. After lunch, the group will meet & interchange with judges and prosecutors for a discussion on the Cuban judicial system. After dinner, the group will enjoy a night of entertainment & music at the Gato Tuerto, a hidden gem just off the Malecon.
Tuesday November 6th, 2018
After breakfast, the group will meet with members of the Society of Commercial, Economic, Financial, & Labor Laws. The panel discussion will focus on topics such as; laws on foreign investments, new business opportunities in Cuba, the current economic situation, and an overview of the new Cuban economic model. The group will then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant; there the group will learn about the economic management model of restaurants under the current Cuban system. Later, the group will meet with the Institute for Friendship with the People (ICAP). The institute focuses on creating relationships with foreign nations as well as numerous organizations and helps promote Cuban culture across the globe, the institute works with over 100 nations and 1,000 organizations.
Wednesday November 7th, 2018
Early morning meeting with Cuban trail lawyers to discuss the structure and functioning of the National Organization of Law Collectives & the role of litigation lawyers in Cuba. After lunch, the group will partake on a guided tour of Old Havana. The group will learn about the extensive history of the colonial section of Havana, as well as some of its most famous residents. Walk through narrow cobble-stone streets, filled with colorful homes and buildings, while enjoying the original architecture of the old colonial city. The group will visit the four major squares, as well as the artist’s graphic workshop near the Cathedral.
Thursday November 8th, 2018
This morning the group will meet with representatives from the National Center for Sexual Education. The group will learn about the mission and efforts of the center which include, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, gender equality & violence, disabilities and much more. The group will learn about the legal advocacy and help that is provided to these marginalized groups. The center believes their work is critical to “training for a new society”, and deals with grass roots organizations as well as government ministries and agencies. After lunch, the group will visit with a national federation of women who work with over 81,000 grassroots organizations in Cuba and internationally. The federation focuses on multiple social efforts such as; the education, employment, and help of women throughout the island. They also work with the government to promote the libertad of women in all forms.
Friday November 9th, 2018
After breakfast, the group will depart Havana for the city of Matanzas. Known as the “Athens of Cuba” the city is famous for its poets, culture, & Afro-Cuban folklore. The city is also home to 17 major bridges which has earned the city the nickname — “City of Bridges.” Enjoy a quick tour of the city and a visit to a local museum. After lunch, the group will continue to the beautiful beach town of Varadero. After check-in, the group will enjoy dinner at the resort, and will meet with the local Santa Marta CDR chapter.
Saturday November 10th, 2018
After an extensive tour with multiple panel discussions and meeting, it’s time for some fun! Take some time to enjoy the pristine clear waters of Varadero beach, known as one of the top beaches in the world. After lunch, the group will head back to Havana. On arrival, enjoy free time at the San Jose Markets, a great time to shop for some souvenirs or for that last minute photo. Later in the evening, the group will enjoy a Farewell Dinner on their last night in Cuba, with a traditional Cuban cocktail, and entertainment included.

All good things must come to end, and it’s time to head back home! The group will be transferred to the Jose Marti International Airport to check-in for the flight back home.
